The Official America's Cup Sailing Simulation computer game was developed for the Commodore 64/128 and Amstrad. This realistic simulation offered players a chance to race the actual 24.3 mile course off the coast of Perth, in Western Australia. With constant changing winds and weather conditions, the player needed to master authentic 12 metre racing tactics. Realistic yacht performance as well as innovative use of the joystick to winch a selection of genoa and spinnakers were key features of the product. The game was published by Electronic Arts in the USA and U.S. Gold in Europe.
